Southampton Anglo Dutch Association
(Covering Dorset & Hampshire)
Thank you for your interest in the Anglo-Dutch Association.

The Association was founded in 1971 on the initiative of the Consul for the Netherlands in Southampton at that time. Membership is open to Dutch nationals and interested parties who have connections with the Netherlands, or the Dutch language.

The aim of the Association is to develop friendship between Dutch nationals and other interested parties residing in this area but above all to keep in touch with the Dutch language and its people for those who may wish to.

To this end we organise activities on a regular basis, some outdoors, some meeting in varying venues to accommodate the event. Activities include:
  • Dutch speaking pub night,
  • film evening,
  • walks and cycle rides in the New Forest,
  • celebration around Koningsdag or King's Day (around 27 April to celebrate King Willem's birthday),
  • summer barbecue,
  • Nasi Goreng meal,
  • pea-soup evening (combined with AGM) and a
  • St Nicholas Christmas party for our youngsters.

A newsletter inviting you to these events is published regularly and also brings to your attention anything that may concern Dutch nationals, including national or European elections and communications from the Netherlands.

You are welcome to join the Southampton Anglo Dutch Association. Please do not hesitate to come to any of our meetings and contact us. Membership is £6 (single) or £10 (family) per calendar year.

We hope to see you soon!
